Procurement Officer – Ahmedabad

About the role

Qatar Airways is seeking a Procurement Officer to join its Global Business Services team in Ahmedabad, India. The role focuses on operational procurement tasks across product and service categories, ensuring alignment with category strategy, financial targets, and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market searches to identify potential suppliers and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Evaluate the completeness and accuracy of specifications provided by user departments.
• Monitor and act on purchase enquiries raised by user departments.
• Develop RFP/RFQ/RFI documents and manage end‑to‑end sourcing events, including justification, approvals, and communication.
• Administer tenders, create system documents, circulate approvals, and verify required documentation and calculations.
• Stay updated on commodity indexes, global inflation data, minimum wage levels, and Qatar Airways active stations.
• Proactively resolve operational issues such as delays or lack of supplier responses.
• Negotiate costs and commercial terms for low to medium value goods and services.
• Create, review, and maintain procurement records such as purchase orders and item codes.
• Utilise leading procurement tools to implement sourcing strategies and maintain supply‑base profiles.
• Ensure compliance with procurement processes, delegation of authority, and company policies.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement operations, vendor management, and tender administration.
• Ability to work directly with end users to define specifications and execute orders.
• Knowledge of commodity market trends, inflation data, and relevant regulatory standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to address operational challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for internal coordination and supplier interaction.
