Overhead Line Worker / HV Wireman – Scotland (Visa Sponsorship)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Overhead Line Workers, HV Wiremen, HV Commissioning Technicians and HV Electrical Fitters for long‑term power transmission and substation projects across Scotland. The role offers a pathway to a lasting career in the UK power sector and includes visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain overhead transmission lines, including tower erection, stringing and hardware fitting.
• Carry out earthing, bonding and safety work at height on transmission structures.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and site instructions.
• Perform relay testing, protection system commissioning, primary and secondary injection testing.
• Inspect, verify and fault‑find HV equipment, producing commissioning documentation and reports.
• Install HV substation equipment such as transformers, switchgear, busbars and perform cable glanding and termination.
• Support commissioning teams during energisation activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in HV transmission, substation or related power infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and understand English technical documentation and safety instructions.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors and at height.
• Strong understanding of site safety procedures.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS/ECS) preferred.
