National Tax Specialist – Direct Tax

About the role

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a National Tax Specialist to join its Direct Tax team in India. You will support tax compliance, litigation, advisory and related projects, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all direct tax obligations for the Indian entity and its overseas group.

Key responsibilities

• Perform TDS/TCS compliance, file related returns and manage TDS credit reconciliation.
• Compute and file Income Tax Returns for the Indian entity and its overseas subsidiaries, including advance tax, SFT returns and tax audit reports.
• Maintain Transfer Pricing documentation and support transfer pricing assessments.
• Prepare and file responses to tax litigation notices, appeals, DRP proceedings and rectification matters, and represent the company before tax authorities.
• Provide advisory on withholding tax rates, DTAA interpretation and day‑to‑day tax queries.
• Assist with income tax refund follow‑up, tax automation projects and audit data preparation.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1‑3 years of post‑qualification experience in Direct Tax.
• Experience in Direct Tax during articleship is an advantage.
• Strong analytical abilities and good interpersonal and communication skills.
