Lead Design Manager

About the role

The Lead Design Manager will oversee the complete design lifecycle of Overhead Contact Systems (OCS) and Overhead Equipment (OHE) for railway projects. You will coordinate with international suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure design compliance, safety, and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and calculate maximum span, tension length, and conductor tension for OCS and OHE systems.
• Prepare General Power Supply diagrams, sectioning diagrams, layout plans, and earthing & bonding plans.
• Coordinate with international suppliers and clients to clarify design queries and obtain approvals.
• Finalize detailed construction designs, including basic design, arrangement drawings, and switching station layouts.
• Conduct clearance studies, simulation studies (traction power, CPDI, EMI/EMC, rail potential) and validate results.
• Develop method statements, equipment layouts, cable routes, and GIS switching equipment specifications.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in railway electrification design, specifically OCS and OHE.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary design teams and manage client interactions.
• Strong analytical skills for performing span and tension calculations and simulation studies.
