Auditor – Internal Audit (SOX & IFC)

About the role

The Auditor (L4) is an individual contributor within Target’s India‑based Internal Audit team, primarily supporting SOX and IFC engagements. You will work hands‑on testing of business and IT‑enabled processes while collaborating with global audit teams, business owners, and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform design and operating effectiveness testing for manual, ITDM, ITAC, key report and key spreadsheet controls.
• Develop a deep understanding of Target’s processes, risks, systems and control environment.
• Participate in walkthroughs with control owners, document narratives and test procedures.
• Identify control gaps, support remediation discussions and validate fixes.
• Deliver audit work in line with Internal Audit methodology, quality standards and timelines.
• Provide regular status updates and maintain clear audit evidence.
• Seek efficiency improvements through standardisation, AI, automation or analytics.
• Manage relationships with global internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Accounting, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 2–4 years of internal or external audit experience with exposure to SOX and/or IFC engagements.
• Experience in large‑scale or global organisations.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk assessment and audit principles.
• Effective communication, documentation skills and professional scepticism.
• Self‑driven, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
• Relevant certifications (CIA, CA, ACCA, CPA) or progress towards them.
