Assistant Manager Customization Lab

About the role

The Assistant Manager will lead the Customization Lab supporting 2‑wheelers, driving new product development, adaptation of existing products, and ensuring compliance with customer specifications. This senior position combines technical expertise with team leadership in a fast‑paced, lean environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a customization team to meet targets for 2‑wheel customers.
• Develop new automotive coating products and adapt existing ones.
• Conduct product testing and verify conformance to specifications.
• Implement Safety, 5S, and EHS procedures in the lab.
• Prepare paint samples, perform color matching, and execute manual spray applications.
• Analyze test results, solve root‑cause problems, and standardize products.
• Maintain ISO/TS documentation, including Design of Experiments (DOE) records.
• Conduct walkthroughs, audits, and training on waste disposal and hazardous‑chemical handling.

Required profile

• BTech/MTech in Polymer, Surface Coatings or Chemical Engineering.
• 10‑12 years of experience in automotive coatings or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading a technical team.
• Self‑motivated with strong people skills and ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial setting.
