Anticipated School Nurse – 2026‑2027 School Year

About the role

We are seeking a qualified School Nurse to join our student services team for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Reporting to the Director of Student Services and school principals, the nurse will support pupils’ health, promote healthy habits, and address health issues that affect learning.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and developing the school health education program.
• Conduct vision and hearing screening examinations, follow‑up with families, and report results to parents, staff, and relevant agencies.
• Collaborate with special‑services staff to support students with special health needs and facilitate referrals.
• Gather health and developmental histories for students considered for special‑program placement.
• Interpret and communicate policies on communicable disease control to staff and parents.
• Maintain accurate student health records and generate required reports.
• Serve as a resource and consultant on pupil and staff health matters, and provide instruction for classroom health units.
• Participate as a member of Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid California Registered Nurse license.
• Valid California School Nurse Services Credential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and community agencies.
• Bilingual Spanish ability is desirable.
