Supplier Technologist

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Supplier Technologist to lead the development and integration of supplier technologies for its semiconductor equipment business in Bangalore. The role focuses on evaluating supplier capabilities, managing technical collaborations, and ensuring technology readiness for high‑volume production.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the supplier technology strategy and roadmap.
• Engage with strategic suppliers, lead technical roadmap meetings and drive joint development programs from concept to qualification.
• Assess supplier capabilities including technology readiness level, manufacturing maturity, scalability and long‑term viability.
• Identify technology gaps, single‑source and dependency risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, reliability, operations and supply‑chain teams to ensure supplier solutions meet performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost targets.
• Analyze risks related to yield, reliability and volume scaling, and drive corrective actions with suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science Engineering or a related field.
• 10–15 years of experience in semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, supplier development or technology engineering.
• Proven experience working with global suppliers and cross‑functional teams on new product development.
• Strong strategic thinking, decision‑making and technical leadership abilities.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
