Store Keeper

About the role

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing construction materials, tools, and equipment at the project site, ensuring proper storage, stock tracking, and timely availability for construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify construction materials such as cement, steel, sand, tiles, electrical and plumbing items.
• Maintain accurate stock registers for inward and outward entries.
• Issue materials to site engineers or contractors based on approved requests.
• Ensure proper storage to prevent damage, theft, or wastage.
• Monitor minimum stock levels and inform the procurement team for replenishment.
• Maintain material consumption records and track usage.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification.
• Handle Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) and related documentation.
• Maintain records of tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Ensure housekeeping and safety standards in the store area.

Required profile

• Minimum education: 10th or 12th pass; diploma or bachelor’s degree in any field is preferred, especially in commerce, logistics or supply chain.
• Willingness to work at construction/project sites and physically fit for handling materials.
• Basic understanding of safety practices.
