Software Engineering Manager

About the role

Mastercam seeks a Manager of Software Engineering in Pune, India, responsible for overseeing multiple development teams in an Agile environment, providing mentorship, and ensuring delivery aligned with strategic direction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the team, maintain weekly communication on expectations, feedback, tasks, and goals.
• Serve as liaison among management, team members, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop strategies that promote department standards, team growth, and engagement.
• Administer performance reviews and provide detailed feedback.
• Assist with reporting and on‑time delivery of software projects.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks.
• Partner with product owners to prioritize and detail user stories.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team training.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 7‑10 years developing commercial applications in C# or C++.
• 1‑3 years of technical leadership or mentoring experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows development using Visual Studio.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented development and ability to drive projects to completion.
