Software Engineer - Java

About the role

Wells Fargo is looking for a Java Software Engineer to contribute to low to moderately complex technology initiatives, including installations, upgrades, and deployments. You will work within an Agile team to design, develop, and maintain web‑based applications while ensuring high service quality and availability.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in low to moderately complex projects involving technology domain initiatives, upgrades, and deployments.
• Identify opportunities to improve service quality and availability.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document solutions for assigned projects.
• Review and analyze technical assignments, research alternatives, and present recommendations.
• Exercise independent judgment while adhering to security and compliance requirements.
• Provide information and support to technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders.

Required profile

• 2+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, able to multitask effectively.

Required skills

• Java/J2EE development.
• Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Spring Boot.
• Microservices architecture.
• Private Cloud (PCF) experience.
• React JS front‑end development.
• Version control with GIT.
• Build tools: Maven or Gradle.
• Issue tracking with JIRA.
• No‑SQL databases, specifically MongoDB.
• Unit, integration, and automation testing.
• Performance optimization, scalability, and reusability considerations.
• Agile development methodology.
