Software Engineer – Java Backend Development

About the role

Wells Fargo is looking for a Software Engineer to contribute to low‑to‑moderately complex initiatives within its technology domain. You will help design, code, test, and document enhancements, upgrades, and deployments while ensuring service quality and availability.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in initiatives such as installations, upgrades, and deployments.
• Identify opportunities for improving service quality and availability.
• Design, develop, test, debug, and document code for assigned projects.
• Review technical assignments, research alternatives, and present recommendations.
• Collaborate with technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders.
• Adapt quickly to emerging AI tools and follow Agile (Scrum/Kanban) practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of software engineering experience or equivalent.
• Ability to work onsite following the organization’s Return‑to‑Office policy.
• Strong problem‑solving and strategic thinking abilities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Java backend development.
• JavaScript, TypeScript, React JS for UI work.
• Cloud fundamentals (PCF, Azure, OpenShift).
• Micro‑service architecture design and implementation.
• CI/CD and DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub).
• Unit and integration testing with JUnit.
• Object‑oriented design principles and design patterns.
• RESTful APIs, web services, and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
