Software Engineer III – Java Full Stack (UI, SQL, Kafka, Spark)

As a Software Engineer III you will join an agile team within JPMorgan Chase’s Commercial & Investment Bank to design, develop, and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end full‑stack solutions using Java and modern UI frameworks.
• Develop and support backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL), including authentication, integration patterns, and error handling.
• Build responsive, accessible frontend experiences and reusable UI components.
• Integrate with data platforms and event streams (Kafka, Spark) to enable data‑centric use cases.
• Apply strong engineering practices such as code reviews, unit/integration testing, CI/CD, performance tuning, and production support.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 2+ years of applied experience.
• Professional full‑stack delivery experience, strong problem‑solving skills, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work across teams and contribute to system design discussions, driving security, resiliency, and scalability requirements.

Required skills

• Java, Spring / Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture.
• Modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) plus HTML, CSS, TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle) with schema design and query optimization.
• CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Git source control.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, and data platform integrations (Snowflake, Databricks, Hive, Airflow) is preferred.
• Knowledge of security concepts (OAuth2, JWT) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
