Senior Technical Program Manager, Data Science

About the role

Mastercard’s Security Solutions Data Science organization is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead and coordinate data‑science projects that address fraud‑related challenges. You will work closely with data scientists, product managers, engineers and senior leaders to translate technical solutions into business value.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between product and data‑science teams, managing day‑to‑day planning, execution, model deployment and monitoring.
• Serve as the single source of truth for project status, delivering accurate updates to the right audience at the right time.
• Build strong partnerships with product and technology teams to ensure alignment with data‑science initiatives.
• Translate technical approaches and outcomes into clear business language for stakeholders.
• Define scope, timelines, dependencies, owners, risks and mitigations, and report progress to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineering teams to improve ways of working and mitigate risks that could impact the plan.
• Conduct retrospectives, create action plans and implement changes at the team level.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex projects autonomously across multiple teams with strong critical‑thinking and thought‑leadership abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to break down problems, organize work, plan and build solutions, helping product, data‑science and engineering teams make informed trade‑off decisions.
• Track record of data‑driven decision making and applying continuous‑improvement methodologies.
• Excellent relationship‑building, influencing and partnering skills across a matrix organization.
• Strong organization, interpersonal, administrative and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Effective communication at all levels and the ability to work independently while fostering collaboration.
• Comfortable navigating a matrixed environment and aligning diverse stakeholder interests.
