Senior Software Engineer – Test Automation

About the role

Mastercard’s Digital Network Services team builds next‑generation core payment products using cloud‑native, scalable architectures. As a Senior Software Engineer you will lead the design and automation of testing solutions that ensure high‑quality releases across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test frameworks.
• Write automation code using Java and testing frameworks.
• Perform API, UI, integration, regression, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and define test strategies.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Analyze defects, perform root‑cause analysis, and improve overall product quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote quality engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Strong communicator with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
• Quick learning abilities and strong grasp of new technologies.
• Technical mentoring skills to guide junior team members.

Required skills

• Java programming.
• Selenium or Playwright for UI automation.
• Event‑driven applications (Kafka, Cassandra).
• API testing tools (REST Assured, Postman, SOAP UI).
• SQL and database testing.
• CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins.
• Git version control.
• BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, JBehave).
• Microservices architecture.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Performance testing tools such as JMeter (preferred).
