Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the design, architecture, implementation, security and ongoing support of its multi‑site network environment. You will work across global locations, ensuring reliable, secure communications for a leading payments network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver a range of network projects, from planning through to implementation.
• Develop detailed requirements and execute upgrades for production, corporate and non‑production network devices.
• Perform network troubleshooting, provide in‑depth technical assistance and resolve operational issues.
• Coordinate cross‑team collaboration, engage with change management processes and support vendor relationships.
• Identify service‑improvement opportunities to optimise performance, efficiency and capacity.
• Conduct baseline checks on new hardware to ensure compliance with company standards and security posture.
• Share knowledge with peers and review work to maintain high technical standards.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in networking, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, security, encryption and load balancing.
• Hands‑on experience with TCP/IP, Cisco product portfolio, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH and MPLS technologies.
• Experience working in a heavily regulated environment (DSS/PCI compliance).
• Current CCNP certification or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
