Senior Associate Java Backend Developer

About the role

PwC is seeking a seasoned Java Backend Developer to join its Advisory practice in Hyderabad. You will work on high‑impact services, applying best‑in‑class quality engineering standards to deliver robust, scalable software solutions for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Review and improve Java service‑layer code, ensuring adherence to SOLID principles and coding standards.
• Identify and resolve design flaws, concurrency issues, exception handling problems, and resource‑management bugs.
• Analyze order‑processing services to detect vulnerabilities, memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks.
• Refactor code for readability, maintainability, and proper separation of concerns following OOP best practices.
• Implement thread‑safety improvements, including synchronization and use of thread‑safe collections.
• Eliminate redundant validations and duplicate code, promoting reusable utility methods and validators.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of professional experience developing Java backend applications.
• Strong command of Java 11+, object‑oriented design, and data structures/algorithms.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot and micro‑service architectures.
• Proven ability to diagnose performance issues, memory leaks, and concurrency problems.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
