Senior Applied AI Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Conqr AI is an early‑stage startup building AI solutions for regulated, document‑heavy professional workflows. The Senior Applied AI Engineer will own the full lifecycle of AI systems, from research and model fine‑tuning to production deployment and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of production AI/ML systems, including experimentation, training, fine‑tuning, and deployment.
• Build and maintain scalable training, data‑processing, and inference pipelines, improving model accuracy, latency, reliability, and cost.
• Implement MLOps best practices: CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, automated retraining, and container orchestration.
• Design and maintain robust APIs and services that expose AI capabilities to product, backend, and frontend teams.
• Research emerging AI techniques, tools, and frameworks, and evaluate their fit for Conqr AI’s products.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit‑learn.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, Azure (including services like SageMaker, Vertex AI).
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Data infrastructure: PostgreSQL, modern data pipelines.
• MLOps practices: CI/CD, model monitoring, automated retraining.
• API design and distributed system architecture.
• Experience with LLMs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and vector databases (strong plus).
