Safety Manager I – Fulfillment Center

About the role

The Site WHS Manager partners with the operations team of a fulfillment center to implement Amazon safety policies and ensure compliance with local and regional regulations. Using lean principles and kaizen, the manager drives continuous improvement to reduce conditional and ergonomic risks, creating a safe and healthful environment for associates.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with site operations to execute safety policies and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives using lean methodology and kaizen to lower ergonomic and conditional hazards.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis to inform decision‑making.
• Train and coach operations leaders on safety standards and best practices.
• Identify, document, and integrate best‑practice safety procedures into company policies.
• Oversee a WHS & Safety team (Safety Specialist, Safety Coordinators, onsite first‑aid associates), setting expectations and providing feedback.
• Measure site performance against safety requirements, develop corrective action plans for deficiencies, and track implementation.
• Analyze safety metrics and incident trends to allocate resources effectively.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety.
• Thorough knowledge of local/regional safety regulations and Amazon safety policies.
• Proven ability to guide teams toward compliance and continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical skills for safety metrics, incident trend analysis, and risk assessment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to influence operations teams.
