About the role
TCS is seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to join its Mumbai team. The role focuses on managing and optimizing Red Hat and other Linux environments to ensure high availability and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
- Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability using appropriate tools.
- Perform system upgrades, apply patches, and implement security hardening measures.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and system permissions.
- Troubleshoot server issues and conduct root‑cause analysis.
- Ensure reliable backups, recovery processes, and disaster‑recovery readiness.
- Administer services such as Apache, Nginx, SSH, FTP, NFS, Samba, DNS, and DHCP.
Required profile
- 8 to 12 years of professional experience in Linux system administration.
- Minimum of 15 years of full‑time education.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
