Project Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate individual to support children in a humanitarian setting, fostering their holistic development and ensuring their wellbeing. The role involves close interaction with children, staff and families to create a safe and nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with children and facilitate their holistic development – physical, mental and intellectual.
• Attend to health, sickness, diet, sanitation and cleanliness matters.
• Assist with homework and design an engaging, meaningful education curriculum.
• Maintain discipline and promote a peaceful atmosphere in the hostel.
• Address medical, social and personal emergencies, including accompanying children to hospitals.
• Identify children needing psychological support and arrange counselling sessions.
• Handle documentation, office work and conduct Child Committee Meetings using technology.

Required profile

• B2 level English proficiency.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently.
• 0–2 years experience in an administrative or assistant role.
• Relevant degree (B.Ed preferred, MSW/BSW or other graduate).
