Product Engineer – R&D Software Engineering

About the role

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Product Engineer in R&D Software Engineering to design, build, automate, secure, and operate cloud‑based engineering platforms that enable fast, reliable, and compliant digital product delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support secure, repeatable, automated application delivery across development, test, validation and production environments.
• Provision, configure and operate cloud infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code, reusable templates and automated governance controls, including Kubernetes container platforms.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting and dashboards to improve transparency and support incident response and root‑cause analysis.
• Embed security scanning, vulnerability remediation, secrets management and compliance evidence into automated delivery workflows.
• Collaborate with software engineering, cybersecurity, quality, architecture and operations teams to improve developer experience, platform resilience and delivery speed.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, site reliability engineering or release engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience working in regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, healthcare or life sciences is a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Container orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipeline tools.
• Scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Observability tools for monitoring, logging and tracing.
• Secure platform engineering practices including automated security scans and vulnerability remediation.
