Principal Engineer - Test Automation (CDMS)

About the role

Veeva Systems, a mission‑driven leader in industry cloud for life sciences, is looking for a Principal Engineer to drive test automation for its CDMS platform in Hyderabad. You will work with cutting‑edge cloud technologies, collaborate with global teams, and help deliver high‑quality software that accelerates the delivery of life‑saving therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and understand features of the Veeva Vault platform and applications.
• Develop and maintain API and UI automation scripts using Java and modern frameworks.
• Work daily with CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, and JIRA.
• Communicate status and coordinate with onshore/offshore managers.
• Troubleshoot day‑to‑day technical issues related to test automation.
• Perform code reviews and act as a technical mentor for the team.
• Define metrics with managers to measure test‑automation code quality.
• Collaborate with scrum masters on sprint planning and backlog grooming.
• Contribute to recruiting initiatives to grow the Hyderabad office.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in software test automation.
• Strong technical leadership and project‑management abilities.
• Practical approach to complex regression testing automation.
• Proficiency in QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Experience with Java, object‑oriented programming, and automated test frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber).
• Hands‑on experience testing RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, and web‑based applications.
• Good working knowledge of CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, JIRA).
• Experience in mobile testing and automation (Appium, XCUI, Espresso, KI) and mobile app development (Android/iOS).
