Pharmacist – Retail Pharmacy (Thoothukudi)

About the role

MedPlus is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Pharmacist for its Thoothukudi store. You will be responsible for accurate medication dispensing, patient counseling, and maintaining a safe, compliant pharmacy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications according to prescriptions, verify dosages and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Counsel customers on proper medication use, side effects and drug interactions.
• Manage inventory: monitor stock levels, check expiry dates, and support ordering processes.
• Maintain detailed records, support overall store operations and coordinate with healthcare providers when needed.
• Keep the pharmacy clean, organized and compliant with standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, prescription interpretation and drug interactions.
• Excellent patient‑counselling and communication abilities.
• Competence in inventory control and stock management.
• Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and digital record‑keeping.
• D.Pharm or B.Pharm from a recognized institution and valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
• High attention to detail, ethical standards and adherence to safety protocols.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and collaborate in a fast‑paced retail setting.
