Linux Administrator – Core Services & Virtualization

About the role

The organization seeks a Linux Administrator to manage core infrastructure services, ensure system stability, and support virtualized environments. The role combines hands‑on technical work with monitoring, security hardening, and reporting responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Administer core services such as NFS, Samba, DNS and NTP.
• Monitor system resources, interpret logs and troubleshoot issues.
• Implement backup and recovery procedures.
• Apply Linux security hardening using firewalls, TCP Wrappers, iptables and SELinux.
• Manage virtualization platforms including VMware ESX and Nutanix AHV.
• Configure Linux networking, routing and NIC bonding, and resolve related problems.
• Deploy virtual machines using HPE iLO and HPE OneView consoles.
• Support directory services (LDAP) where required.
• Prepare capacity reports and maintain risk registers.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Linux core services (NFS, Samba, DNS, NTP).
• Hands‑on experience with Linux security tools and firewall technologies.
• Proven experience in virtualized environments (VMware, Nutanix).
• Good understanding of Linux networking and routing.
