Lead Design Engineer – Mechanical Development

About the role

Bosch Global Software Technologies is seeking a Lead Design Engineer to drive new product development in mechanical engineering. You will ensure that designs meet performance, quality, manufacturing, and cost targets while integrating mechanical and electronic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new mechanical products, defining isolation clearance and creepage per IEC 60664-1.
• Integrate mechanics with electronics, finalize electrical interfaces for power and communication.
• Lead design‑to‑line activities using modular base concepts and interconnect technologies (TIM, glue, potting, laser cleaning, plasma treatment).
• Manage PCBA integration, contour development, and technology definition for PCB, solder resist, and HSP usage.
• Design brazed coolers, cooling concepts, and plastic‑integrated solutions, with knowledge of HPDC processes.
• Perform failure mode analysis (DFMEA) and oversee prototype manufacturing.
• Define BOMs, special characteristics, and collaborate with quality assurance.
• Conduct risk assessments, change management, and impact analysis on technical and commercial aspects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 9–11 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in CAD tools, especially CREO.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die‑casting, sheet‑metal fabrication, and machining.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
