Healthcare Support Worker

About the role

The Healthcare Support Worker will join the Radiology department at NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital, helping to deliver a smooth and positive patient experience. Working across a five‑day week with extended opening hours, the role can be full‑time or part‑time and may include a condensed working week.

Key responsibilities

• Assist radiographers in preparing patients for imaging procedures.
• Manage patient flow and ensure timely movement through the department.
• Provide high‑standard patient care and support during diagnostic imaging.
• Maintain accurate patient records and use computer systems for documentation.
• Participate in ongoing learning and pursue SVQ qualifications where applicable.

Required profile

• Commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
• Good computer literacy.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training in cannulation/venepuncture.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to a busy environment.
• Previous radiology experience is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Basic IT/computer skills.
• Cannulation and venepuncture (experience advantageous).
