Head of French Department

About the role

The Head of French Department will lead the French language team, ensuring academic excellence and high student satisfaction. This senior position combines curriculum development, trainer management, and operational coordination to drive the success of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Design, update and align French curriculum and lesson plans with international standards such as DELF, DALF and TEF.
• Observe classes, mentor trainers and conduct quality checks to maintain high teaching standards.
• Lead recruitment, technical interviews and onboarding of new French trainers.
• Plan trainer schedules, workloads and deliver training workshops to enhance trainer capabilities.
• Monitor student progress, address trainer‑related issues and re‑engage inactive learners.
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to schedule new batches and forecast trainer needs.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports and validate trainer invoices.

Required profile

• Graduate or post‑graduate degree in French, Linguistics or Education.
• High‑level French proficiency certifications (e.g., DELF B2/C1/C2).
• 4–6 years of French teaching experience, including 1–2 years in a leadership role.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel.
• Experience using video‑conferencing tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
