Hardware Project Manager – BMS (BESS Domain)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Hardware Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of Battery Management System (BMS) hardware for grid‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will own the full hardware lifecycle, from concept through release, ensuring timely delivery, system integration, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end BMS hardware projects (concept, design, validation, release).
• Define scope, timelines, milestones and resource plans; monitor KPIs and risks.
• Drive development of BMS electronics (AFE, MCU, sensing, protection circuits) and communication interfaces (CAN, Ethernet).
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams (hardware, software, mechanical, V&V) and align with overall BESS architecture.
• Translate system‑level requirements into detailed hardware specifications and ensure traceability.
• Lead DVP, validation, qualification testing, FMEA, root‑cause analysis and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, UL and functional‑safety standards.
• Manage vendors for PCB design, prototyping and testing; maintain clear stakeholder communication.
• Prepare design documents, test reports, interface specifications and support product release and manufacturing hand‑over.

Required profile

• 15–20 years of experience in hardware development and project management.
• Strong background in BMS, battery systems, power electronics or BESS.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary projects and deliver on schedule.
• Excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills.

• BMS architecture, battery sensing and balancing.
• Embedded hardware design, analog and digital circuit design.

• Validation processes (DVP, testing, reliability) and FMEA.
• IEC, UL and functional‑safety compliance.
