Finance Reporting Manager

About the role

The Finance Reporting Manager will lead the finance activities for BASF’s Service Delivery Unit in India. Reporting to the Head of Finance India, you will ensure strong financial control, provide insightful business partnering, and drive the delivery of finance services that support growth and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the SDU’s finance strategy in line with global objectives.
• Act as the primary finance business partner to the global Finance GBS community, translating financial implications of strategic decisions.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and scenario analysis to drive financial discipline.
• Manage end‑to‑end finance processes including accounts payable/receivable, closing cycles and management accounting, ensuring efficiency and high service levels.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and standardisation.
• Oversee capacity planning, workload balancing and operational resilience for peak periods.
• Define, monitor and report on KPIs and SLAs such as closing time, accuracy and on‑time payments.
• Build, coach and retain a high‑performing finance team, setting clear objectives and development plans.
• Ensure proper delegation, succession planning and capability development within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance leadership, preferably within a large multinational environment.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to partner with business units and influence decisions.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and performance management.
• Track record of leading process optimisation and automation initiatives.
• Excellent people‑leadership skills with a focus on coaching and talent development.
