Engineering Change (EC) Engineer - Mechanical

About the role

The Engineering Change (EC) Engineer – Mechanical will own the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process for assigned product families, driving cost‑effective implementation of design and manufacturing changes. You will work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams, suppliers and production to ensure smooth release of product improvements and new products.

Key responsibilities

• Launch, review, approve and implement ECRs/ECOs, ensuring completeness of documentation, BOM structure and impact analysis.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, define time standards and recommend tooling and process requirements using DFx principles.
• Gather operational and test data, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective and continuous‑improvement actions.
• Coordinate with Change Implementation Board (CIB) members and other EC analysts to route ECOs and verify stakeholder inclusion.
• Train and coach ECO participants, mediate conflicts, and identify opportunities to improve the ECO process.

Required profile

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering with 5‑8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of ECR/ECO processes, PLM (Teamcenter, Windchill) and PDM (SAP) systems.
• Understanding of supplier manufacturing processes, lean principles and DFx methodologies.
• Excellent problem‑solving, negotiation and presentation skills.
