Digital Procurement Buyer – IT Sourcing (m/f/d)

About the role

Join BASF's Digital Hub in Hyderabad as a Category Buyer for Digital Procurement, focusing on IT sourcing. You will manage end‑to‑end procurement processes, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and drive value for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute IT sourcing activities for medium to large volume contracts (€250k – €3M p.a.).
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle from demand intake to contract signature and purchase order creation.
• Apply sourcing strategies through RFP processes and bilateral negotiations.
• Act as primary contact for internal requesters up to group‑leader level, translating business needs into procurement solutions.
• Steer stakeholders—including internal business partners, legal, compliance, and suppliers—through the procurement process to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Lead commercial negotiations and support supplier relationship management activities.
• Contribute to performance improvement and supplier optimization initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or comparable qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, IT, or related fields.
• Completed procurement training and development program.
• Strong negotiation and commercial mindset.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Structured, analytical, and solution‑oriented working style.
• Ability to work independently with high ownership.
• Solid understanding of IT markets (software, hardware, services).
• Experience working in distributed global teams.
