Data Engineer III - Data Platform

About the role

Zinnia is seeking a Data Engineer III to own and evolve its data platform infrastructure. You will design, build, and operate scalable pipelines and storage solutions that power analytics, machine‑learning, and downstream applications across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain reliable, scalable data platforms and pipelines on AWS.
• Provision and modify data infrastructure (S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, Snowflake) using Terraform and IaC patterns.
• Develop and operate containerised services with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, or ECS, including cluster upgrades.
• Implement ELT/ETL workflows with Airflow, dbt, and Airbyte for self‑serve data access.
• Integrate telemetry, observability, and data‑quality checks to ensure platform reliability.
• Support data governance, access control, and cost‑optimization in AWS and Snowflake.
• Troubleshoot pipeline and infrastructure issues, collaborating with senior engineers.
• Document solutions and follow technical standards.

Required profile

• Strong data‑engineering background focused on platform and infrastructure work.
• Comfortable turning clear requirements into well‑tested, production‑grade solutions.
• Curious about scaling data platforms and supporting downstream analytics and ML use cases.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a fast‑moving engineering team.
