Data Center Technician, Data Center Operations (DCO)

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Data Center Technician to join its Data Center Operations (DCO) team. You will work alongside software, hardware and network engineers to keep AWS’s global infrastructure running reliably and at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Linux‑based server infrastructures with an emphasis on reliability and scalability.
• Perform comprehensive system monitoring, diagnostics and performance optimisation.
• Configure and manage network hardware, including switches, routers and complex cabling systems.
• Develop and maintain robust backup and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless technological integration across AWS data centres.

Required profile

• Proven experience working in data‑center environments.
• Strong ability to work with diverse engineering and operations teams.

Required skills

• Linux operating systems.
• Network hardware configuration (switches, routers, structured cabling).
• System monitoring, diagnostics and performance optimisation.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery planning and execution.
