Corporate Counsel – India

About the role

FBS – Farmer Business Services is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to support its Indian operations. You will work closely with HR, U.S.-based legal teams, and Indian regulators to ensure compliance with corporate and labor laws.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on Indian corporate, labor, and employment matters, including employee relations, social security, employment taxes, subcontracting, and investigations.
• Support interactions with Indian regulators and authorities, handling inspections, audits, inquiries, and administrative proceedings.
• Collaborate with U.S. and global legal teams on cross‑border policies, risk mitigation, and investigations.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks in India and contribute to training for business and HR partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney in employment, labor, corporate, or related fields.
• Full English fluency and experience serving as in‑house counsel or advising multinational clients.
• Proven ability to conduct and manage complex workplace investigations.
• Experience advising senior leaders and HR professionals on employment law.
• Strong knowledge of Indian employment and corporate law and experience in highly regulated industries.
