Cashier – Branch Banking

About the role

The Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations at the branch in line with internal and external banking guidelines. The role includes maintaining registers, performing end‑of‑day reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with cash‑handling policies.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments, providing acknowledgements.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans, updating system entries accordingly.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers, and submit requisition forms to the regional head office.
• Perform daily cash tallying, prepare end‑of‑day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, cross‑sell bank products, and educate them on alternate channels for transactions.
• Ensure adherence to turnaround times, regulatory compliance, and accurate loan‑repayment accounting.

Required profile

• UG – Any graduation, preferably in Finance or Commerce.
• 1–2 years of experience handling high‑volume cash transactions and making entries in financial modules/ERP.

Required skills

• Cash handling and accounting skills.
• Experience with financial modules or ERP systems.
• Strong numerical ability and computer operation proficiency.
