Cashier – Branch Banking

About the role

The Branch Cashier is responsible for executing all cash‑related transactions and operations in accordance with internal and external banking guidelines. This full‑time position ensures accurate cash handling, end‑of‑day reconciliation, and excellent customer service at the branch.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cheques, drafts, dividend warrants, pay orders and other instruments within authorized limits.
• Disburse cash for withdrawal requests and collect cash for deposit challans.
• Collect loan repayments as per EMI schedules and maintain related system entries.
• Maintain inward/outward registers, petty‑cash and assets registers; submit requisitions to the Regional Head Office.
• Perform daily cash tally, prepare End‑of‑Day reports, and manage the branch vault jointly with the Operations Officer.
• Interact with customers, promote cross‑selling opportunities, and educate them on alternate banking channels.
• Ensure compliance with turnaround times, bank policies, and regulatory requirements for all cashier operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; banking experience preferred.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality.
• Good communication skills for customer interaction.
