Analytics Lead – UPI Product

About the role

Paytm is India's leading mobile payments and financial services company. The UPI product team is looking for an Analytics Lead to own analytics strategy, drive growth insights and support platform reliability for its high‑volume UPI flows.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end analytics charter for UPI surfaces, defining metrics, instrumentation and insight generation.
• Build and maintain source‑of‑truth frameworks for north‑star and guardrail metrics across the UPI funnel.
• Partner with NPCI reporting requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory data standards.
• Lead a team of analysts, set priorities, review outputs and raise analytical standards.
• Diagnose friction points using deep‑dive analysis, cohort studies and funnel decomposition.
• Define and monitor SLA, success‑rate and latency benchmarks, building alerting and anomaly‑detection frameworks.
• Own experimentation backbone, designing and evaluating A/B tests across the UPI funnel.

Required profile

• 7–9 years of analytics or data experience on consumer‑facing or fintech products, preferably payments or UPI.
• Strong command of SQL and hands‑on experience with product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or Metabase.
• Proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis and experimentation design.
• Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses and clear recommendations.
• Experience managing or mentoring a team of analysts.
