Accounting Associate – Remote (India)

About the role

We are a Silicon Valley‑funded AI startup building the future of bookkeeping, tax and CFO services. As an Accounting Associate you will work remotely with small‑business clients, handling full‑cycle accounting and gaining exposure to tax preparation and financial advisory.

Key responsibilities

• Bookkeeping & close: reconcile accounts, categorize transactions and prepare monthly financial statements.
• Tax preparation: assist with filings and learn to review, prepare and interpret tax returns.
• Client management: act as the primary point of contact, provide updates and ensure client satisfaction.
• Financial insights: support the creation of reports, budgets and forecasts to help clients make informed decisions.
• AI tools: use and give feedback on our AI‑powered accounting platform to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Career growth: progressively take on controller/CFO‑level responsibilities and strategic advisory.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent bookkeeping/tax experience.
• Interest in learning accounting and tax practices; CPA/EA certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working directly with clients.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset and proactive approach.
• Enthusiasm for a fast‑moving startup environment and new technology.
