About the role

We are looking for a Social Media Lead to drive the digital presence of News18 Tamil Nadu. The role will shape content strategy, engage audiences across platforms, and ensure the news output is accurate, compelling and aligned with market trends.

Key responsibilities

• Curate and create engaging content for News18 Tamil Nadu’s social media channels, targeting a diverse audience.
• Conduct competitive analysis to refine social media strategies.
• Develop, optimise and execute editorial plans that meet industry standards.
• Maintain accuracy and logical flow of news content.
• Innovate content formats and leverage current trends and audience insights to stand out.
• Manage social media campaigns and monitor performance using analytics tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in digital media and social media management.
• Fluency in Tamil and English; Hindi optional.
• Creative thinker capable of translating complex ideas into clear narratives.
• Strong multitasking and collaboration abilities.
• Commitment to high‑quality content standards in digital journalism.

Required skills

• Proficiency with social media analytics tools for performance tracking.
