Shift Engineer – Production Operations

About the role

The Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth production operations during each shift. Working closely with the shift superintendent, the role oversees crew activities, equipment performance and maintenance to meet production targets while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and executing shift operation plans in line with standards and regulations.
• Monitor equipment, perform predictive maintenance and analyse data using the OMPro tool.
• Conduct routine inspections, identify issues and coordinate timely maintenance and safe hand‑over‑take‑over (HOTO) of equipment.
• Supervise shutdowns, startups and preservation of assets during extended outages.
• Perform risk assessments, toolbox talks and maintain detailed shift logs.
• Identify root causes of failures, recommend corrective actions and support process improvement trials.
• Coordinate with maintenance, other plants and raw‑material supply teams to ensure continuous operation.

Required profile

• Experience in shift‑based industrial operations and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work safely in a high‑risk environment and conduct thorough risk assessments.
• Strong analytical mindset for data‑driven performance optimisation.
