Shift Engineer – Production Operations

About the role

The Shift Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth production operations during each shift. Working closely with the shift superintendent, the role involves supervising the crew, monitoring equipment performance, and supporting maintenance activities to meet production targets while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and executing the shift operation plan in line with company policies.
• Perform equipment monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data analysis using the OMPro tool.
• Conduct routine inspections, coordinate maintenance, and manage safe shutdown/start‑up procedures.
• Identify root causes of failures, recommend corrective actions, and implement process improvements.
• Maintain detailed shift logs and support plant upsets and sample trials.
• Perform regular risk assessments and lead toolbox talks.
• Communicate with other plants to manage raw‑material SOCs and coordinate job planning with the maintenance department.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of rotary machine seal systems, including seal‑pot level and pressure.
• Understanding of compressor lubrication systems, temperature, pressure, and flow parameters.
• Familiarity with LO/LC valve status and field instrumentation locations.
• Ability to differentiate regular, one‑time, and shutdown jobs.
• Proactive attitude toward safety, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
