Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

The Senior Tax Accountant will lead complex tax projects, prepare and review advanced tax returns, and ensure full compliance with Indian tax regulations. You will guide junior staff, interact with tax authorities, and support audit activities across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Execute complex projects related to tax law application.
• Prepare and review complex tax returns, reconciliations, and GST filings.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less‑experienced tax staff.
• Research, interpret, and summarize tax laws to ensure compliance.
• Prepare reports supporting positions on federal, state, and GST returns.
• Support tax audits by gathering data and resolving queries.
• Lead a team of 3‑4 tax resources and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
• Liaise with tax authorities for routine compliance matters.
• Perform income‑tax provision computations and tax modeling.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and resources effectively.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of total experience, with at least 5 years in Indirect Tax.
• 2‑3 years of IT/automation experience and familiarity with tax IT systems.
• Experience in MNCs or large Indian organizations with PAN‑India presence.
• Handled 25‑30 GST registrations.
• Background in manufacturing (auto/auto components) or consulting with hands‑on tax experience.
