Senior SOX Business Auditor

About the role

eBay is looking for a Senior Auditor focused on Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance to join its Global Internal Audit team in Bengaluru. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week onsite, and involves providing assurance over internal controls across key financial audit areas.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design assessments of in‑scope processes, conduct walkthroughs and document key financial audit controls with business partners.
• Perform testing of financial audit controls and related reports alongside co‑sourced service providers.
• Review attestation and audit reports (e.g., SOC, Internal Audit) to determine SOX relevance.
• Collaborate with control owners to evaluate deficiencies, support remediation, and drive process improvements.
• Identify and monitor process and system changes linked to eBay’s strategic objectives.
• Participate in SOX readiness audits for new areas and prepare senior‑management reports using data‑visualisation techniques.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, including automation of control activities and testing through analytics and AI.
• Stay current with emerging accounting standards and provide technical mentorship to partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in SOX compliance, operational auditing, or internal audit.
• Analytical, diligent, and collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to work across global time zones and partner with diverse stakeholders.
