Senior Power Electronics Hardware Engineer

About the role

Bosch Group is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Hardware Engineer to join its Bangalore team. The role focuses on designing and validating power electronics hardware for electric‑vehicle traction inverter systems, working closely with cross‑functional teams to bring prototypes to market.

Key responsibilities

• Execute circuit design for power electronics hardware used in EV traction inverter systems.
• Study input requirements, specifications and design constraints.
• Perform component selection using engineering calculations, worst‑case analysis, power loss and efficiency estimation.
• Optimize designs for electrical performance, thermal behavior, manufacturability and cost.
• Coordinate with Systems, Software, Mechanical and other interfacing teams during design and validation.
• Prepare test specifications, review test conditions and set up required test rigs.
• Conduct module testing and high‑voltage testing of hardware.
• Investigate hardware failures, support root‑cause analysis and define corrective actions.
• Document test outcomes and generate reports for internal and customer reviews.
• Create and update OPLs from review discussions and track closure.
• Develop test jigs and fixtures for validation activities.
• Support commissioning and initial bring‑up of hardware during prototype evaluation.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Power Electronics Engineering.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (junior level).
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and worst‑case analysis.
• Strong understanding of power loss, efficiency and thermal management.
• Experience working in cross‑functional teams and communicating technical information.
• Proficiency in preparing test specifications and documentation.
