Research Biologist – Remote, $250 per task

About the role

We are seeking a remote Research Biologist to design and solve challenging biology problems that test the limits of large language models. This short‑term contract role offers $250 per completed task and flexible hours.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve biology problems to evaluate large language models.
• Develop step‑by‑step solutions with rigorous reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to align problem types with evaluation goals.
• Help define new evaluation benchmarks covering undergraduate to PhD‑level biology curricula.
• Analyze complex biological questions using a structured, logical approach.
• Explain concepts clearly with simple language, visuals, or simulations.
• Provide detailed feedback and annotations for AI evaluation workflows.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field (or currently pursuing a PhD/Post‑doc).
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Creative and lateral thinking.
• Excellent written communication and remote collaboration skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Reliable desktop or laptop with internet access.
