Purchasing Executive

About the role

Jaipur Rugs is seeking a proactive Purchasing Executive to lead procurement activities for its textile operations. You will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost‑effective purchasing while supporting the company’s mission of empowering rural artisans.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full procurement cycle from requirement identification to order placement and delivery follow‑up.
• Source key textile raw materials such as cotton, synthetic, blended yarns, wool, fibers, dyes, and chemicals.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee reliable supply, competitive pricing, and quality compliance.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost‑effective deals.
• Coordinate with production, planning, and inventory teams to align purchases with manufacturing schedules.
• Monitor stock levels, trigger timely replenishment, and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
• Work with the quality team to inspect and approve incoming materials and ensure supplier compliance.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, contracts, delivery notes, and performance records using ERP systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–5 years of proven purchasing experience in yarn, cotton, or cloth within a textile or garment manufacturing environment.
• Deep knowledge of various yarn types, greige and finished cloth specifications, and textile market pricing.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Tally or similar platforms.
• Analytical, organizational, and detail‑oriented mindset.
