Purchase Specialist

About the role

The Purchase Specialist is a detail‑oriented professional responsible for coordinating vendors, executing procurement activities, and driving cost optimisation. The role supports effective sourcing strategies and ensures the timely availability of goods and services for manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with multiple vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply.
• Execute end‑to‑end procurement processes, from requisition to delivery.
• Manage a spend base of approximately 2,000 K Cr and oversee high‑volume purchasing.
• Lead contracts and purchase orders through to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Handle procurement for a wide range of SKUs across several plant locations.
• Collaborate with plant teams and other departments to align sourcing with production needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing vendor relationships and multiple locations.
• Strong negotiation abilities and a collaborative, team‑focused attitude.
• Experience handling large purchase volumes and diverse product portfolios.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP procurement modules.
• Familiarity with the Ariba platform (advantageous).
