Professor of Space Science (Full-time, Mawal)

About the role

The Kalpana Chawla Space Academy is seeking a full-time Professor to join its campus in Mawal. The role focuses on delivering activity-based, experiential lessons in space science and technology, inspiring young learners to explore careers in the space sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, hands‑on lessons aligned with the Academy’s “Learning by Doing” philosophy.
• Develop and update curriculum materials for space science, physics and astronomy.
• Conduct research projects and guide students in scientific investigations.
• Mentor and coach students, fostering curiosity, critical thinking and problem‑solving.
• Organise workshops, seminars and collaborative events with educators and industry professionals, including ISRO experts.
• Contribute to the Academy’s continuous improvement through educational research and curriculum innovation.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in space science, physics, astronomy or closely related disciplines.
• Minimum Master’s degree; PhD preferred.
• Proven experience designing and delivering activity-based, experiential learning programmes.
• Experience in curriculum development and educational research.
• Excellent teaching and mentoring abilities with a passion for inspiring young minds.
• Familiarity with India’s New Education Policy and innovative educational practices.

• Deep subject knowledge in space science, physics or astronomy.

• Research methodology and scientific project supervision.
