Procurement Engineer – Plant Purchase & Outsourcing

About the role

The Procurement Engineer will lead the purchase of machined components, fabricated parts, sheet‑metal items and terminal assemblies for the plant in Taloja. You will ensure that all equipment is sourced according to engineering drawings, specifications and quality plans while supporting the plant’s production schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for strategic equipment categories to improve quality, reduce lead time and lower total cost of ownership.
• Manage the full supply‑chain process: interpret engineering drawings, issue RFQs, evaluate quotes, perform cost analysis and negotiate commercial terms.
• Create and release purchase orders in SAP, monitor deliveries, identify bottlenecks and expedite shipments to meet manufacturing timelines.
• Maintain close collaboration with internal stakeholders (QA, Projects, Finance, Design) and external suppliers, service providers and third‑party logistics.
• Document all procurement activities in line with ISO standards and company guidelines.
• Conduct market research, develop new and existing suppliers, and drive vendor development initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement of machining, fabrication, surface treatment, packaging and logistics.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality plans.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience preparing cost estimates and commercial contracts.
• Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Office and e‑procurement tools.
